The Chula Vista Colorado

Vehicle: 2021 Chevrolet Colorado · Gloss Black · Chula Vista, CA

Anthony had done everything right — he’d paid for a professional paint correction and ceramic coating. The problem was the shop he hired wasn’t professional. After nearly a week in their hands, his black Colorado came back with the same heavy wash marks and swirls it went in with, zero paint correction completed, and a coating applied over contaminated, defect-filled paint. He’d spent real money and ended up with a result that looked worse in the sun than before he started.

He found Elevate SD and reached out frustrated and skeptical — understandably so. Riley inspected the truck and confirmed what Anthony already knew: the prior ‘ceramic coating’ was applied over uncorrected paint, and the trim had been treated with car wash ‘shine’ products that were accelerating sun fading rather than preventing it.

The process took 6.5 hours: decontamination wash, clay towel treatment, iron decontamination solution to pull bonded brake dust and fallout, then a full 2-step paint correction — medium/heavy compound followed by fine compound, two complete passes over the entire truck to remove the wash marks and swirl damage. The prior coating was also removed during this process. Once the paint was corrected and properly prepped, Gtechniq ceramic coating was applied to the paint, with Gtechniq Ceramic Trim Restore on all plastic trim and a ceramic glass coating on every exterior glass surface.

Anthony came out when the job was done. His words: “looks better than it did when I bought it.”
